STARFEST 2022 : In-Person Student Art Exhibit

  • Los Angeles, CA United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

ABOUT THE SHOW

This will be our first in-person Art Show in several years and our first at L.A.C.E.R.'s home, the historic Orchard Gables (built in 1904). The students from all eight sites have created art pieces in various mediums, including pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, acrylic, watercolor, graphic art, photography, sculptures, mixed media, and will feature select nichos from the LACER sculpture at the Day of the Dead Event at Hollywood Forever.

All of this is made possible through a multi-year gift from The Wilbur May Foundation. This philanthropic support allows the L.A.C.E.R. Afterschool Programs to make the arts an integral part of the after-school experience for thousands of students in Los Angeles. The Wilbur May Foundation support provides a minimum of 10,000 additional hours of arts instruction and performance time over five years across eight L.A.C.E.R. schools, providing an arts experience for more than 7,000 middle and high school youth.

Thank you also to our Giving Circle Members and all of our Starfest Sponsors for making this event possible.

L.A.C.E.R., in collaboration with the City of West Hollywood, will be hosting the 10th Annual Talent Show at Fairfax High school. We will be featuring 15 acts, with a total of 49 student performers, which include performances in dance, music and spoken word. It is a community event and we welcome all spectators to come out and see the amazing talent our students have to offer. All students went through an audition process, and these were the top 15 acts selected out of 32 performances. Students have the opportunity to place 1st place for $300, 2nd place for $200 and 3rd place for $100. We also have professional judges coming out to select the winners on April 27th! This is the only event of its kind on the Fairfax campus and has become a loved tradition at Fairfax High School.
